Mario De Caro is a Professor of Moral Philosophy at Roma Tre University and a Visiting Professor at Tufts University, where he has taught regularly since 2000. A former Fulbright Fellow at Harvard, Visiting Scholar at MIT, and president of the Italian Society of Analytic Philosophy, he currently serves as president of the Italian Society of Moral Philosophy. He is also an associate editor of the Journal of the American Philosophical Association and the literary executor of Hilary Putnam.
He has delivered talks at over 100 universities across 19 countries and has published more than 200 scholarly articles in six languages. He is the author of seven books in Italian and the editor or co-editor of over 20 collections in Italian and English. His forthcoming works include Liberal Naturalism (Harvard University Press) and Hilary Putnam (Polity Press, co-authored with Maria Baghramian). His research focuses on ethics, philosophy of mind, metaphysics, the history of early modern philosophy and science, and metaphilosophy.
