Xie Dikun is the Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chairman of the Academic Committee of the same Institute, and Dean of the Department of Philosophy, Graduate School of CASS. He is also the President of the Chinese National Society of the History of Foreign Philosophy, and Chief Editor of Philosophical Researches. His areas of research include German classical philosophy (from Kant to Hegel), contemporary continental philosophy, and the exchanges between Chinese and Western philosophies. Among his recent publications are Philosophical Research in Marxism (2012), German Classical Philosophy (2005), and The Way to Humanities: Research on Wilhelm Dilthey (2002).
