Wang Bo is Vice President and Provost of Peking University. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Philosophy, Peking University, where he is currently a professor.
Wang Bo specializes in Chinese philosophy. Among his works, he has authored or coauthored A Historian's Perspective on Laozi's Thought; A Collection of Reflections on the Bamboo and Silk Manuscripts; An Inquiry into the "Great Commentary" of the Book of Changes; The Philosophy of the Zhuangzi; A History of Confucianism in China: The Pre-Qin Period; A History of Chinese Civilization; and The Worldly and Unworldly: A Record from the Journey of a Stone. He is in charge of such significant research projects as the compilation of The Confucian Canon and A History of Hermeneutics in China. He has published more than 100 academic papers in Chinese and English journals.
