Biography
Emmanuel Picavet was born 1966 in Paris. He was trained in philosophy and in economics. He was a teacher-student of Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris, 1986-1991) and received his doctorate in philosophy from Paris-Sorbonne University in 1994. Prof. Picavet is presently a professor of Philosophy (applied ethics) at université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne where he chairs the Centre de Philosophie Contemporaine de la Sorbonne (CPCS). He also co-chairs the Ethics and Finance chair at Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme.
